Engineering, Materials Research, Mockup and Realization

Tensoforma srl is a company specialized in the design and construction of architectural envelopes. Over the years the company has developed a project philosophy that has combined the experience acquired, the high knowledge of materials and production techniques to engineer innovative solutions, to new constructions; placing itself in the international market as Facade Contractor.

Over the years we have specialized in the design and construction of custom facades. This has led us to face always different projects involving ad hoc material choices for each building. Internally, we have created a large sample book in which we find the most suitable material for all needs. We follow the customer step by step in the choice of systems and finishes using the best certified materials available on the market. We are able to work with glass, fabrics, metals; all of which can be used in a wide range of finishes. Each material is tested and certified according to the highest standards required.

Our internal organization allows us to study every detail. The company is a real laboratory where we can test different solutions and materials to help architects find the best solution and realize it. We can easily and very quickly manage the Mockup phase where we can develop the details from the constructive point of view thanks to the construction department inside Tensoforma. The development of the Mockup follows the structural study of the project and the structure.

Each material is chosen for a specific use and fixing to guarantee its hold on the metal frame. For each project we make joints and details to share with the studios to allow for rapid project evolution. This particular process helps us to control the progress of the project by closely studying the materials and their mechanical behaviors.

 We carry out various processes in-house thanks to the many machines and tools available. We take care of the assembly of the different components. Specifically, we initially take care of the support structures thanks to the experience acquired in the realization of carpentry, from cutting, welding and subsequent painting of the parts. We also take care of the finishes, the installation of glass and other components, as well as the lighting. All this in order to present a finished product to the customer ready to be installed on site. Milling, welding and assembly work are just some of the processes that are carried out in our production department, all of which are carried out in accordance with drawings.

Following the contemporary architectural language today Tensoforma deals more and more with the building envelope, the skin of the building, the boundary surface between outside and inside; realizing façade systems, glazed façades, graphic façades and backlit façades, based on the use of the most performing technologies. The continuous research of new functional and design solutions has allowed us to develop innovative solutions: steel, aluminum, glass, technical textile membranes, testing the material according to their use. 

Tensoforma finds its identity within the dialogue between designer and company. The company structure allows us to develop the architectural project from the concept to the engineering: we are producers of the components that make up our architectures and for this reason we carry out the works up to the smallest details, we take care of the executive project, the assembly, the maintenance and we provide a continuous assistance service.

  The outcome of the engineering study is summarized in the prototyping and realization of a full-scale mock-up of the facade that allows us, in continuous contact with the customer, to define details and finishes for the construction. The internal development of a project management section and the experience acquired, allow us to assist the customer and the respective local figures in the submission phase of the project and materials certified to meet the main international standards in place. This thanks to a business network consolidated over the years and around the world with high profile engineering studies and local construction action.
