PROJECT OVERVIEW

For the new Tiffany & Co. flagship at South Coast Plaza, designed by Peter Marino, Hugh Dutton conceived a large suspended luminous sculpture, envisioned as the scenic focal point of the main salon and as an element capable of showcasing the Maison's collections.

Spanning more than 15,000 square feet, the boutique reinterprets the language introduced at the New York Landmark, creating an ongoing dialogue between high jewelry, art, and architecture.

Tensoforma turned the concept into a custom architectural work, handling its detailed engineering, production, and installation. Set within a large rectangular recess, the chandelier is composed of mirrored metal sheets shaped and bent to different geometries and inclinations. Within them, luminous glass blades are arranged in a complex radial configuration, enriched by transparent and prismatic elements concentrated in the central area.

The alternation of illuminated, crystalline, and reflective surfaces recalls the facets of a diamond: light is split, multiplied, and reflected, while the perception of the work changes continuously depending on the viewpoint. This dynamic quality expresses Hugh Dutton's research into the relationship between geometry, refraction, and movement, transforming the ceiling into a kinetic, highly scenographic presence.

Beyond illuminating the space and the display cases below, the installation defines the perceptual center of the boutique, merging engineering precision, light control, and craftsmanship into a work fully consistent with the identity of Tiffany & Co.

Radial geometry

01

Luminous blades and inclined surfaces form a composition inspired by the facets of a diamond.

Dynamic reflections

02

The mirrored metal sheets multiply light and perspectives, changing the perception of the work from every angle.

Integrated light

03

The luminous glass elements enhance the composition and contribute to the lighting of the display space.

Custom engineering

04

Complex geometries, connections, and components are developed with precision to ensure stability and formal quality.

Central architecture

05

Suspended above the salon, the installation draws the eye and defines the perceptual center of the boutique.

Precious identity

06

Transparency, refraction, and brilliance translate the elegance and gemological heritage of Tiffany & Co. into architecture.

WE APPROACH EVERY PROJECT WITH CUSTOM
ENGINEERING, PUSHING beyond the LIMITS OF STANDARD CONSTRUCTION

There is only one goal: to bring to life architectural envelopes that are unique, functional, and capable of representing the brand's identity. For us, every process is a collaboration, every challenge an opportunity to innovate. And every detail counts.
