In April 2021, Fendi opened its first boutique in Sydney inside the prestigious Queen's Club, with a facade that embodies elegance, luxury, and technological sophistication. The “Golden Reflections” concept uses golden glass panels with alternating glossy and satin finishes, extending seamlessly from the vertical walls to the ceiling to immerse visitors in a continuous play of reflections.
Tensoforma played a key role in the engineering and supply of the glass cladding. Each panel, made of 6 mm monolithic solar glass, was fixed to rigid backing panels using an innovative structural system. The back-lacquering process was refined through extensive testing to balance opacity, adhesion, and brilliance, ensuring the golden finish enhanced the facade's luxurious aesthetic.
A highlight of the project is a 3-meter-tall curved interior wall, made from a single hot-bent glass panel, demonstrating Tensoforma's expertise in precision engineering and material handling. Through careful design, material testing, and technological innovation, the facade achieves a perfect integration of craftsmanship, light, and geometry. The result is a boutique that not only reflects Fendi's luxury identity but transforms architectural surfaces into a sensory experience of elegance and mastery.
