MSC Danza del Mare

Commissioned by the MSC Foundation and developed in collaboration with Venini, the installation extends from deck 5 to deck 8 of the MSC Seashore, turning the ship's vertical space into a strikingly scenographic element.

The 190 blown-glass fish, made in different sizes and shades, are arranged in a spiral that narrows at the center and gradually widens outward. This configuration generates a continuous sense of movement while, at the same time, contributing to the overall balance of the structure.

Tensoforma designed a system of pre-tensioned cables and ropes capable of supporting the glass elements with lightness, precision, and safety, meeting the specific conditions of a shipboard installation. A mirrored wall multiplies perspectives, diffuses light, and enhances the chromatic variations and transparency of the glass.

Before installation on board, the work was pre-assembled at full scale at Tensoforma's facilities. This phase made it possible to verify the structural nodes, refine the connections, and optimize the on-site installation sequence. The result is an immersive work in which engineering expertise, construction precision, and artisanal mastery converse in perfect balance.
