Bulgari Pavillon
In Kuala Lumpur, the Bulgari facade, designed by MVRDV and built by Tensoforma, embodies the concept of “Fused Light”, in which matter and light merge to shape a sculptural, dynamic expression of the brand. The lightweight concrete panels are crossed by backlit amber resin veins that evoke incandescent lava flowing through stone, harmoniously blending solidity and luminosity. This dialogue transforms the facade into a living work of art, in which light seems to emerge from the very heart of the material.
The project's precision engineering, with custom molds, water-jet-cut joints, and integrated lighting, ensured a continuous, uninterrupted surface, while full-scale mock-ups made it possible to refine the balance between texture, light, and geometry. Metal panels inspired by the motifs of Bulgari's Roman portals interweave with the concrete and resin, accentuating the sculptural depth. Meticulously designed lighting amplifies the contrast between matte and luminous areas, turning the facade into a radiant, ever-evolving visual experience.
The result is a facade that transcends the boundaries between architecture, art, and design, becoming a visual and sensory manifesto of the Bulgari brand. Tradition and innovation, craftsmanship and technology, matter and light coexist in a sophisticated balance, transforming the building into a symbol of contemporary elegance and a radiant, ever-evolving architectural statement.
