Tensoforma is a company leader in the engineering, project management, manufacturing and installation of architectural envelopes.

Following the evolution of architectural research, the company begins to have success in the early 80s with the design of custom made and tailored tensile structures, especially membrane structures. Starting from light structures related to the philosophy of natural forms, Tensoforma specializes into structural systems based on the use of technical textiles, able to compose building envelopes (textile façades and sun shading systems) that guarantee high mechanical performance, thermal and energy.

In this context, arises the Texo® system, a patent by the company, which allows an extremely versatile use of the panel and suggests an experimental use, that goes from the search for the most effective shape to the selection of the most suitable material, until the maximization of its efficiency. Texo® can be found in the achievements of the greatest exponents of contemporary architecture in the world.


TEXO®, a prestressed textile panel, is a structural system patented by Tensoforma based on the use of a specific aluminium extruded profile frame and a silicon elastomer positioned between the aluminium extruded profile frame and a textile membrane. 

It represents an innovative, versatile and highly performance envelope system that can be used for new constructions and for refurbishing buildings. TEXO® panels are included in a system of uprights and cross-beams and the restraint is ensured by a series of suspension hooks.
